At the Parish Council meeting in March 2015 it was agreed to suspend the Dog Control Orders on the Annscroft Playing field.
This is to be done on the strict understanding that any dog walker using the area ensure that they clean up after their dog while using the field. The condition of the field will be continue to be assessed and if dog fouling were to be found to be a problem, the Parish Council would review the situation. The dog banning order will continue to be applied to the fenced off children’s play area and the multisport court. A review of the situation will be taken at a meeting after March next year to determine if the temporary relaxation will be made permanent.
Young children walking dogs in the area will also need to clean up after their dogs. While the council will not take formal action against children, their failure to clean up could jeopardise the use of the field by others in the future. Parents/guardians must consider this and be confident that any child taking a dog is either capable of cleaning up or they should be supervised.
